My name is Gina Ribando,
it’s so nice to meet you!
I like to say that I have lived many lives. I love learning new things, taking on new hobbies and just ultimately living my life as fully as possible. I started my journey in the industry as an apparel designer. Although that world was an amazing and valuable experience for me, I realized that there was more for me to explore and went on to study bridal design and makeup artistry. Along this exciting journey, I was able to work with some extremely talented people and discover the crazy rollercoaster that is the beauty industry.
Somewhere in the middle of my Makeup Artistry career, I made some major life changes and moved my entire world away from my home in New York. I spent about a year away, but it wasn’t long before I came to the realization that moving was a mistake and quickly (in about 17 hours) moved myself back where I belonged.
Upon moving back to NYC, I took a long, hard look at my life and thought about what I wanted to do from this point on. After looking back on all of the experiences and people I had met in the beauty industry, it was clear that I wanted to move forward into the world of professional hairstyling. I completely hit the ground running and put myself in any and every situation that allowed me to learn more and continue to master my craft. After a few years of diligently working hard to bring my skills to the next level, I was asked to become a Loreal Professionnel Artist and Educator.
After Years of working behind the chair in salons, I became a full time free lance hairstylist in NYC. My work includes: Private clients, celebrity clients, set/television work, photoshoot/editorial work, NYFW, bridal work, and educating all skill levels of hairstylists.
It was after years of traveling as a hairstylist that I discovered my next chapter…
Travel fuels my soul and in travel photography is where I discovered my deep passion for the photography industry. As I learned more, grew and continued to hone in my craft, I found myself falling deeply in love with photographing couples. Being able to listen to each of their unique stories and then be a part of telling those stories is such an adventure and a privilege.
My dream is to continue to capture the beauty and love behind each couple’s stories and see the world.
I don’t want to be just your photographer, I want to be your friend. Comfort is key, and I will always do anything I can to make sure that you are feeling like your authentic self.
A little bit about me…
I am a popcorn and coffee enthusiast that loves to create and learn.
I am a giant goofball and probably the clumsiest person you will ever meet.
75% of my conversations are about food. The rest are about Netflix…
My favorite place that I have traveled to so far is Iceland. Hands down.
I am super organized and a huge planner but I have no problem throwing the plan in the air and winging it when the situation calls for it. Seize the day and all of that, right???
I have a million plants and they all have names. I swear I’m not crazy. lol
…If there is one thing in life that you can never return, it’s time. I thank you so much for spending your time with me and I truly hope that you find that time well spent.
“The most dangerous risk of all – The risk of spending your life not doing what you want, on the bet that you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later.” -Randy Komisar
